Project Description
In this task you are required to develop your scheme and demonstrate how you will select plants to create a planting scheme. You are required to describe criteria for choosing plants and demonstrate the process of coming to a definitive selection. This sifting process will be an important part of your presentation.
Things to Consider
Features of site such as soil, orientation, and climate/microclimate. Growth characteristics of the plants. Compatibility between individual plants and how they make plant communities. Flowering time and seasonal appearance. Change over time (years). Contribution to Green Infrastructure and biodiversity. Composition in size, colour and texture. Human requirements. Management requirements.
Requirements
- The selection criteria you set in text and diagrams
- A clear demonstration of the selection process
- Layout plans with sections at appropriate scales
- Illustrations of the plant selection (plan, section, 3D)
- Visual and text information on the plant species (including Latin names) with description of size, seasonal change, flowering and maintenance requirements
