Fit for the client this private garden is tranquil and biodiverse garden in Potsdam, Germany, characterized by its humid continental climate and a landscape shaped by glacial activity. The area is known for its abundant greenery, rivers, and protected natural reserves, making it a fitting location for a nature-inspired design.
The project’s vision emphasizes harmony, with quiet paths, soft greenery, vibrant floral accents, and serene water features. Inspired by natural landscapes, it creates spaces for reflection, discovery, and calmness. The design incorporates several planting schemes: wild perennial meadows, lightweight succulents for green roofs, low-growing shrubs, streamside plantings, and vertical green walls. Plant selections include species like Centaurea cyanus, Sedum, Vaccinium sect. Cyanococcus, and Iris pseudacorus, chosen for their adaptability and aesthetic appeal.
The garden highlights sustainable and biodiverse practices, blending functionality with beauty. It considers local climatic conditions, such as the 800mm average rainfall and long sun hours, ensuring plants thrive year-round. This thoughtful, poetic project reimagines the connection between people and nature, creating a place to feel "lost and found" amid natural splendor. It exemplifies ecological balance while prioritizing personal solace and discovery.
